Thanksgiving 2016

This year for Thanksgiving, Anne Mark and HBomb stayed in Buenos Aires.  Although they had the day off from work, it was not a school holiday and HBomb did not have the day off.  Instead, it was actually the day of the end of year program at HBomber's school, so the three attended that.

The school put on a version of "The Wizard of Oz."  The students of HBomb's class performed as the backup dancers for the main scarecrows (the speaking parts went to third graders and above, apparently).  HBomb dressed up in the scarecrowiest costume as possible.

Now the phrasing here is important.  "HBomb's class performed..." is technically true.  Several members of HBomb's class danced around on stage.  Several other members kind of stood there and looked at the crowd.  One kid waved to his parents.  HBomb, however, chose not to participate and watched the performance from the seats with Anne and Mark.

So, all in all, it was a cute show.  The one critique I cannot let pass - it was a version of the Wizard of Oz performed with members of a grade school and they didn't have a single Munchkin.  No villagers, no Lollipop Guild, no Lullaby League.  Nothin.  Just saying, seems like a missed opportunity.

Anyway, after that, the three ran some errands and then got Thanksgiving dinner take out from Kansas, that's the American style restaurant chain in Buenos Aires that served Thanksgiving dinner as its menu of the say on Thanksgiving, not the band that gained fame with hits like Dust in the Wind and Carry On My Wayward Son, nor the state that was coincidently the 34th state admitted to the union and the 34th largest state by population.
