Road Trip!!!!

The end of November and beginning of December contain a wealth of holidays.  As Americans we celebrate Thanksgiving on the day before Black Friday every year (I think that's how they determine when Thanksgiving is, anyway).  The Argentines have a sovereignty-type holiday towards the end of November, as well as two holidays in early December - Feast of the Immaculate Conception, which falls on a Thursday, and the eminently practical but lazily named "Touristic Bridge," which falls on the Friday between the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and the weekend.

Anyway, last year, to take advantage of the time off, our trio flew south to visit the penguins in Ushuaia and climb glaciers in Calafate.  This year, the trio decided to try to see everything else in Argentina (and Chile!!!).  How could they do that?  Simple, channel their inner Clark Griswold and go on a family vacation.

This 3300 mile, 2 country (could have been 3, but decided against the side trip to Bolivia), 15 day extravaganza took our trio to deserts, mountain passes, jungles, beaches, cities, and small towns.  To beautiful highways and craptacular backroads.  The benefits were great, but the trip was not without costs and sacrifices.  At least one pigeon and two pairs of Mark's shorts did not make it back from the trip.  But at the end of the day, it was worth it.

So, here's what we did....
